He is the daughter of Mithun Chakraborty.

In 1990, she started her television acting career in the television series Brahmarshi Vishwamithra. Shantipriya was a part of the television sci-fi Aryamaan the series Brahmaand Ka Yodha with Mukesh Khanna in 2002. In the well-known Tv show Mata Ki Chowki, she was the character Maa Vaishno Devi. She was seen in Dwarkadheesh in the film Dwarkadheesh Bhagwaan Sheryl Krishn.
